Question 1

Why is this VPN so special?

Accepted Answer

Keys Generated in Your Browser: You create your WireGuard connection keys directly in your web browser. This means your private key is generated on your device and never leaves it. Direct Communication with the VPN Endpoint: Your browser communicates directly with the VPN server to set up the connection. There's no middleman handling your keys or data. Enhanced Privacy and Security: Since your private key never touches our backend servers, there's a much lower risk of it being intercepted or compromised. You have full control over your security credentials. In simple terms, our VPN ensures that your sensitive information stays with you, giving you an extra layer of protection and peace of mind.

Question 2

Why should I use a VPN?

Accepted Answer

Security: A VPN encrypts your internet connection, making it more difficult for hackers to intercept your data. This can be especially useful when using public Wi-Fi networks. Privacy: A VPN can help protect your online privacy by hiding your IP address and online activity from your ISP and other third parties. Access to restricted content: Depending on your location, certain websites and online services may be blocked. A VPN can help you access these services by routing your traffic through a server in a different location. Bypassing censorship: In some countries, the government censors certain websites and online services. A VPN can help you bypass these restrictions and access the internet freely.

Question 3

What is this?

Accepted Answer

With nadanada we've built a very simple VPN pay-as-you-go service primarily paid via Bitcoin Lightning, but we also accept Monero, USDT/USDC, and other cryptocurrencies. Instead of paying around $5 every month with your credit card for the privilege of using a VPN service occasionally, we provide you with a VPN connection on servers in different countries for one day for only 0.50 cents in US$ -- paid via Lightning or other crypto!

Question 4

Are you a reseller?

Accepted Answer

No, we are not a reseller. We manage the servers in each country, ensuring privacy for our users.

Question 5

How does it work?

Accepted Answer

Very simple: On this website, you automatically generate WireGuard VPN keys via JavaScript inside of your browser. After selecting a country and the validity of your connection, click Pay to see payment options. You can pay instantly with a Bitcoin Lightning wallet (like Phoenix or BlueWallet) by scanning the QR code, or choose other cryptocurrencies like Monero, USDT/USDC or most other altcoins. After successful payment confirmation, the website presents a new QR code and the message PAID. Scan it with the WireGuard App on Android or iOS. On your PC or Mac, download the WireGuard config file.

Question 6

What services did you use to build this, which VPN service do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use LDK for our Lightning integration. On the VPN endpoints, we don't use a commercial VPN service. We have our own servers in each country for each endpoint. nadanada uses the Wireguard open source VPN protocol.

Question 7

What data do you store about your users? How anonymous is this? What privacy do you offer?

Accepted Answer

On the nadanada.me website, we don't use cookies and we only store the first half of your IP address in our webserver logs. For example, the IP 1.12.123.234 would be stored as 1.12.0.0. We delete the webserver logfiles after 7 days. On the VPN endpoints, we store your WireGuard public key, the PSK, and the total amount of bandwidth you used. While you're connected to our VPN, the endpoint temporarily keeps your IP address in memory to maintain the connection. If there's no activity for 5 minutes, the IP address is automatically deleted. We never store it on any disk or permanent storage. We prioritize privacy-enhancing payments like Bitcoin Lightning and Monero.

Question 8

What happens after the timeframe I paid my VPN for?

Accepted Answer

You won't be able to transfer any data over the VPN connection anymore. Your VPN client may indicate that it is still connected, but no data will pass through.

Question 9

Do you have an uptime dashboard?

Accepted Answer

Yes we do! You can check the status of our VPN servers at any time on our status page at https://kuma.ln-tweetbot.com/status/lnvpn.

Question 10

Is there a data transfer limit?

Accepted Answer

Currently, we have five data plans: 1 day = 50GB, 1 week = 150GB, 1 month = 300GB, 3 months = 800GB, 1 year = 3000GB.

Question 11

Do you offer an API?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do! We offer comprehensive API access for integrating nadanada services into your applications. New API (v2) - Recommended: Our latest API with improved features and modern OpenAPI documentation at https://nadanada.me/api/v2/documentation Legacy API (v1): Our original API documentation is still available at https://nadanada.me/api/documentation. We recommend using the new v2 API for all new integrations.

Question 12

Who built this?

Accepted Answer

Berlin Bitcoiners with Love.

Question 13

Do you have an onion address?

Accepted Answer

Yes! For enhanced privacy, you can access our service through our Tor onion address: http://wg2vbtdwfo6tacuykviwdiyeaslezxohb4or4xjcjxbtspdcxgbs2pad.onion. Note: On Tor only Lightning works as a payment method.

Question 14

Which devices are compatible with eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Many newer smartphones, tablets, and wearables now include eSIM functionality. Popular brands like Apple (iPhone XS and later), Samsung (Galaxy S20 and later), and Google Pixel (Pixel 3 and newer) typically support eSIM. However, it's always best to check the exact model specifications or consult with your carrier for confirmation.

Question 15

What is the difference between an eSIM and a data bundle?

Accepted Answer

An eSIM is a digital SIM you install on your phone. It needs a data bundle to work. You can install it anywhere, but the data only activates once you're in the supported region and connect to a local network. Frequent traveler? Use multiple bundles or a global plan.

Question 16

How do I install or set up my eSIM plan?

Accepted Answer

After purchasing an eSIM plan, you will receive a QR code or activation code. Go to your device's cellular settings, select 'Add Cellular Plan' (or similar), then scan the QR code or enter the activation code. You can install the eSIM from anywhere, but your data bundle will only activate once you connect to a supported mobile network in the bundle's designated country or region. Tip: install the eSIM while you still have Wi-Fi or your home mobile data - the activation step itself needs an internet connection.

Question 17

Can I store multiple eSIM profiles on one device?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Many eSIM-enabled devices let you store multiple eSIM profiles (like a home SIM, a travel SIM, or a work SIM) so you can switch between them in your settings without swapping physical cards. However, most devices can only use one eSIM profile at a time.

Question 18

Can I add multiple bundles to one eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can add multiple data bundles to the same eSIM and use them as needed. Just go to your eSIM profile page and add multiple bundles. The bundles are activated as soon as you reach the country of the bundle. Note: Not every bundle is compatible with every eSIM. Sometimes you need a new eSIM profile. Nada-Euro eSIMs only accept Nada-Euro bundles, and data-only eSIMs cannot take Nada-Euro bundles.

Question 19

Can't connect my eSIM on Android

Accepted Answer

If you're having issues with your internet connection, check if all your settings are set up correctly. Make sure that Data Roaming is turned on under settings. To update the Access Point Name (APN): Go to Settings > Network & Internet section > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names, click '+' or 'ADD', enter the new APN settings (data.esim), and hit 'Save'.

Question 20

Can't connect my eSIM on iOS/iPhone

Accepted Answer

If you're having connectivity issues with your eSIM on iOS, make sure you have completed all the steps to access data as per the instructions given on your eSIM app/website. Go to Settings > Cellular/Mobile, click on your eSIM under Cellular Plans, navigate to Network Selection and disable Automatic, then select the correct network. Alternatively, try updating your APN settings and check if your data roaming is turned on.

Question 21

How do I set up my APN?

Accepted Answer

All of our eSIMs have an automatic Access Point Name (APN) and so manual programming is not necessary. However, if you want to check or manually configure the APN: iOS: Go to Settings > Mobile/Cellular Data > select your eSIM > Mobile/Cellular Data Network > type 'data.esim' in the APN field. Android: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Networks > Access Point Names > enter 'data.esim'.

Question 22

Where can I find my eSIM number?

Accepted Answer

Your eSIM number can be found on your first eSIM purchase (you will be redirected to your eSIM profile page), in your phone's eSIM settings under the network or SIM card settings, or on your Lightning invoice when adding a new bundle to an existing eSIM.

Question 23

When does my data bundle start and expire?

Accepted Answer

Your data bundle starts when you first connect to a supported network in the assigned country or region. From that moment, its validity period (for example 30 days) begins to count down, and the bundle expires when either the data or the time period runs out - whichever comes first. There is no separate activation deadline: unused bundles stay on your eSIM until you use them. Your eSIM itself will expire after 6 months of no connection to any supported network.

Question 24

How long is my eSIM valid for?

Accepted Answer

The eSIM is valid for 6 months after its last connection to a supported network. If you do not connect to a supported network within this period, the eSIM will expire and you will need to purchase a new one. Every time you connect to a mobile network, the eSIM will be valid for another 6 months from that date. You can top-up your eSIM at any time.

Question 25

How do top-ups work?

Accepted Answer

Data bundles work consecutively, not concurrently. When you add a top-up/new bundle to your existing eSIM: Your current bundle continues to run until it expires (either when you run out of data OR when the time period ends, whichever comes first). The new bundle automatically activates once your current bundle expires. You do NOT lose any remaining days or data from your current bundle. Multiple bundles queue up and activate one after another.

Question 26

What is Nada-Bundle?

Accepted Answer

Nada-Bundle is our family of eSIMs that include a real phone number, call minutes and SMS on top of mobile data. There are two: Nada-Euro for Europe with a UK number, and Nada-World for worldwide travel with a French number. Compare both at https://nadanada.me/nadabundle and pick the one that fits your trip.

Question 27

What is the difference between Nada-Euro and Nada-World?

Accepted Answer

Nada-Euro covers 30 European countries (all EU countries plus the United Kingdom, Switzerland and Turkey), comes with a UK phone number, 50 minutes and 50 SMS, starts at $11 and can be topped up. Nada-World covers 203 countries worldwide, comes with a French phone number and is sold as a single bundle for $79.

Question 28

Which countries does Nada-Euro cover?

Accepted Answer

Nada-Euro works in 30 countries: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey, United Kingdom. Outside these countries the eSIM has no service.

Question 29

Which Nada-Euro plans can I buy?

Accepted Answer

2 GB for 7 days ($11), 10 GB for 30 days ($21) or 20 GB for 30 days ($29). Every plan includes a UK phone number, 50 call minutes and 50 SMS. See https://nadanada.me/esim/nadaeuro for details.

Question 30

Can I top up my Nada-Euro eSIM?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Open your eSIM dashboard (the link you got after purchase) and choose Top Up or Add Bundle. You can add another 2 GB, 10 GB or 20 GB Nada-Euro bundle to the same eSIM without reinstalling it. Every top-up includes 50 minutes and 50 SMS. New bundles queue up and start when the current one ends.

Question 31

How long can I keep my Nada-Euro UK number?

Accepted Answer

As long as you like. Your number stays on your eSIM for as long as you keep adding Nada-Euro bundles to it, so you never need a new eSIM or a new number. Keep the eSIM installed and add the next bundle before the current one runs out.

Question 32

Can I add a data-only bundle to my Nada-Euro eSIM, or a Nada-Euro bundle to my data-only eSIM?

Accepted Answer

No. Nada-Euro eSIMs and data-only eSIMs run on different bundle families that are not compatible with each other. A Nada-Euro eSIM can only be topped up with Nada-Euro bundles. If you already have a data-only eSIM and want a phone number, buy a new Nada-Euro eSIM.

Question 33

Where do I find my Nada-Euro UK phone number?

Accepted Answer

Your UK number (+44) is shown on your order page right after purchase and at the top of your eSIM dashboard, where you can also copy it. It is included in the eSIM email if you send it to yourself. The dashboard also shows how many minutes and SMS you have left.

Question 34

Can I top up Nada-World?

Accepted Answer

No. Nada-World is sold as a single bundle per eSIM. If you need more data, minutes or SMS, buy a new Nada-World eSIM. If you travel within Europe, Nada-Euro can be topped up any time.

Question 35

Why should I use a rental phone number?

Accepted Answer

Rental phone numbers provide long-term privacy protection for receiving SMS messages without exposing your real phone number. You can choose a 3-month plan or a 12-month plan (includes 1 month free). Perfect for ongoing verifications, business use, or maintaining a separate identity online.

Question 36

How do I access my rental phone numbers?

Accepted Answer

After purchasing a rental phone number, you'll receive a unique dashboard URL. Bookmark this URL - it's your key to accessing your phone numbers and messages. No account, email, or login required! Your dashboard displays all your rental numbers, message counts, and the latest SMS preview.

Question 37

Can I rent multiple phone numbers?

Accepted Answer

Yes! You can add multiple phone numbers to your dashboard. Simply use the 'Add Phone Number' button on your dashboard to purchase additional numbers. All your rental numbers appear in one place, making it easy to manage multiple identities or business lines.

Question 38

How long do I keep my rental phone number?

Accepted Answer

Rental phone numbers are valid for the plan you select at checkout (3 months or 12 months). You can extend unlimited times, and each extension can be 3 or 12 months. During this time, you can receive unlimited SMS messages. All messages are stored and accessible through your dashboard for the entire rental period. Numbers are not shared between users.

Question 39

How do I view my SMS messages?

Accepted Answer

Your dashboard shows a preview of the latest message for each phone number. Click 'View All Messages' to see the complete message history for that number. You can easily copy any message content with a single click. Messages are sorted by date with the newest first.

Question 40

What countries are available for rental?

Accepted Answer

Currently, we offer UK phone numbers for rental. More countries will be added based on demand. All numbers support SMS reception from any sender worldwide.

Question 41

What if I lose my dashboard URL?

Accepted Answer

Your dashboard URL is crucial. We recommend bookmarking it or saving it securely. If you paid with Lightning, check your wallet history - the dashboard URL is included in the payment memo. You can also copy the URL directly from your dashboard using the copy button. If you can't find it, use the order lookup at https://nadanada.me/order with your order ID.

Question 42

What is the AI Chat feature?

Accepted Answer

Our AI Chat is a privacy-focused, no-signup chat service that gives you access to many AI models: fast models like Gemini Flash, Claude Haiku, DeepSeek and Perplexity Sonar, frontier models like GPT-5.6, Claude Sonnet 5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok 4.5 and Kimi K3, plus image and video generation. Chat completely anonymously without creating an account, providing an email, or any personal information.

Question 43

Do I need an account to use AI Chat?

Accepted Answer

No! No account creation, no email registration, no tracking. Just visit the chat page and start chatting immediately. Even paid usage works without an account: you top up an anonymous wallet that is identified only by a random link. Your conversation history stays in your browser only.

Question 44

Is the AI Chat free to use?

Accepted Answer

You get a couple of free questions every 24 hours on our fast models - no payment, no signup. For unlimited chatting, frontier models, and image or video generation, you top up an anonymous prepaid AI wallet and pay only for what you actually use. There is no subscription and no monthly fee.

Question 45

How does the pay-as-you-go AI wallet work?

Accepted Answer

Top up your wallet with $5, $10, $25, or $50 and the cost of each answer (the model provider's price plus a small service margin) is deducted from your balance. Your balance never expires, and you can see your current balance and a transaction history right in the chat. The wallet is completely anonymous: it's identified only by a random wallet link - no account, no email, no KYC.

Question 46

How can I pay for AI credits?

Accepted Answer

The wallet top-up uses the same checkout as all our other products: pay with Bitcoin Lightning (5% discount), Monero, USDT/USDC and other cryptocurrencies, or by credit card.

Question 47

What happens if I lose my wallet link?

Accepted Answer

Your wallet link is the only credential to your balance - we can't recover it because we don't know who you are. Your browser remembers the wallet automatically, but we strongly recommend copying the wallet link (using the 'Wallet link' button in the chat) and bookmarking it or saving it somewhere safe, especially before clearing browser data or switching devices.

Question 48

Which models require a funded wallet?

Accepted Answer

The fast text models are available in the free tier. Frontier models like GPT-5.6, Claude Sonnet 5, Gemini 3.1 Pro, Grok 4.5 and Kimi K3, as well as all image generation (Grok Imagine, Seedream, GPT Image) and video generation (Seedance, Veo), require a funded wallet since they are significantly more expensive to run.

Question 49

Does AI Chat support web search?

Accepted Answer

Yes! Toggle the 'Web search' button to enable real-time web search capabilities. When enabled, the AI can access current information from the internet to answer your questions with up-to-date data. At the moment only Perplexity Sonar supports web search.

Question 50

Can I upload files or images?

Accepted Answer

Yes, depending on the AI model you select. Some models support image analysis and file uploads (up to 5MB). Click the attachment button to add photos or files to your conversation. The AI can analyze images, read documents, and answer questions about your uploaded content.

Question 51

Is my conversation data stored or tracked?

Accepted Answer

No. We don't store your conversations on our servers or track your usage. Your chat history exists only in your browser. For paid usage, we only store your anonymous wallet's balance and its top-up and usage transactions - never the content of your chats. We maintain the same privacy standards across all our services.
